If Soccer and Tennis had a baby, they'd name it Futpong and take it to the party. The magic happens because of the small ball and small court, which puts you in head-to-head competition. Browse our site, and if you fall in love with Futpong, pickup a set today.
We are an inclusive, spirited, and community-oriented crew, and we are crazy about soccer--the big game and the small. Our company was founded with a lofty goal: to use the power of play to bring foot skills to as many people as possible, regardless of age, situation, or ability. Futpong is our first product - but we'll have many, many more...stay tuned!
I come from a long line of creatives and I've been cooking up ideas for as long as I can remember. When I wasn't in the workshop or the art studio, I was playing soccer. Up until I was sidelined by injury, I was captain of my high school varsity team, and if you had asked me what I would be doing as an adult, I would have said playing professionally. I’ve since coached and currently serve on the board of the Regent soccer club. For me, soccer has always been about entering a state of creative flow. One of the things I love most about Futpong is that I can recapture the feeling I had playing soccer as a kid, and watch as others get to experience it for the first time. I think you’re going to love this game.
As a kid, I played just about every sport possible. My first soccer coaches were immigrants who had played in their own countries (England, Germany, and Italy). They taught me the fundamentals and were directly responsible for helping me achieve one of my biggest dreams--to captain of the United States National Team and be inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame. I enjoyed a 13-year professional career playing with and against some of the greatest players of our time (Pele, Franz Beckenbauer, Johan Cruyff, George Best, Diego Maradona, to name a few), and later became the Executive Director of the American Youth Soccer Organization. My friendship with Curt began with our shared love of soccer, and when he called me about Futpong I was incredibly excited. We played similar games during my pro days, and I immediately saw its skill-building potential.
My love affair with the beautiful game is in its 37th year and I still play in my hometown. My other passion is forest conservation. While studying forest ecology I had an aha moment that eventually became a successful company, Tree Ring, which crafts high-end pens and watches out of sustainably harvested wood. As an entrepreneur, I love sharing great products and ideas. The first time I played Futpong, I knew it was a winner. I’m thrilled to be part of the Futpong movement to help younger players build skills, give older players a game they can keep playing, and provide everyone in between a wildly fun activity.
I took apart and repaired my first computer when I was ten. I’m a teenager now and I love to build and design just about everything, including robots, open source computers, and anything with wood or metal. I don’t play soccer--but I invented Futpong with my dad one morning during World Cup 2014, and it was my idea to start a business around the game. I've had a great time brainstorming about Futpong, playing it, and bringing the idea to you. And I can tell you, this is a game that even a kid who doesn’t play soccer will have fun with.
